Born and raised in Minnesota until age 22, and then after serving more than a dozen years in the United States Marine Corps I now reside in Eastern North Carolina.
I first became interested in photography while in Junior High School where I learned to develop my own film. However, My interest waned for quite a few years until my first overseas tour to Okinawa in 1982 when I purchased my first 35mm SLR as well as multiple lenses and filters.  Eventually I sold off most of that camera equipment only to later buy another for astrophotography.  Around that same time it just so happened that P&S Digital cameras had become popular. My first digital photography experience was with a Kodak EasyShare DX4530 Digital Camera; Wasn't enough for me and I wanted more. Eventually I stepped up to the world of Digital SLR photography with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT/350D, which opened up a whole new world and photography experience for me. Currently I am using a Canon EOS 50D and various lenses.
