Instead of taking a photo of a scene multiple times, can I copy an image and adjust the exposure in PSE and then merge the copies?

HDR. This technique is called HDR High Dynamic Range and this tutorial is very hard to find if you're looking for HDR rather than Adobe's odd terms. HDR should be in the Tags too.
