Move basics: What are the key things I need to know?
Starting on April 2, 2013, we will move the Photoshop.com storage and sharing service and Elements membership to our new cloud service, Revel.
When we launched Photoshop.com five years ago, you told us you were excited about having access to your photos even when you weren't in front of your computer.
The world has changed so much in the last five years — from how you take photos, to the type of “camera” you use, to how you share those photos with family and friends. We believe you deserve the best possible experience regardless of the device you’re using. We’ve been working hard to provide just that with Revel. Today, Revel is based on a modern technology platform and includes apps for iOS, Mac, and the web. You have the convenience of storing all your photos and accessing them on virtually any device, and you have the ability to effortlessly create and share beautiful web galleries. For those who wish to edit their photos, the apps feature an editor that’s based on industry-leading Adobe technology.
See more about the move.
The Photoshop.com storage and sharing service and Elements membership will move to Revel. Check back often for the latest news and updates — and remember that the Photoshop.com blog is a great place to start.

Archiving my Photoshop.com files
Revel doesn’t yet support file types other than JPEG photos. In the coming months, we will address key customer requests and expand Revel onto new platforms, devices, and file formats.
If you have file formats other than JPEGs — like video or raw files — and they’re not already saved somewhere else, please use the Adobe Media Downloader to save them to your computer before we close on June 18, 2013. In addition to JPEGs, your Photoshop.com library may include the following file formats: 3FR, ARW, CR2, CRW, DCR, DNG, ERF, GIF, IIQ, KDC, MEF, MFW, MOS, MRW, NEF, NRW, ORF, PEF, PIX, PNG, PSD, RAF, RAW, RW2, RWL, SR2, SRF, SRW, TIF, X3F, TIFF, 3G2, 3GP, DV, M2T, M2TS, MTS, M1V, M2V, M4V, MOD, MP4, MPEG, MPG, MOV, WMV, AVI, MPE, 3GPP, M2P, and FLV.
We highly recommend archiving your complete Photoshop.com library to your computer because, as of June 18, 2013, your photos and videos will no longer be accessible via Photoshop.com. Archive now with the Adobe Media Downloader.
Archive means saving all the files in your Photoshop.com library — including videos and photos in all formats — to your computer or hard drive.
The Adobe Media Downloader allows you to download your complete photoshop.com library to your computer so you have all of your assets.
If you uploaded photos directly to Photoshop.com via the website, then you will have photos stored there. Log in to Photoshop.com with your Adobe ID to view your photos.
If you have photos on Photoshop.com and would like to sync them with your Elements Organizer, go to Edit>Preferences>Backup/Synchronization to turn on sync. If some or all of the files in your Organizer are synced with Photoshop.com, you will already have copies of those files on your computer.
Yes, the files you download will be at the same resolution they were when you uploaded them.
All edited photos as well as the originals will be downloaded as JPEGs.
Your Photoshop.com account will remain accessible to you until June 18, 2013, but after your JPEG photos have been moved to Revel you will no longer be able to upload or edit files in Photoshop.com.
What’s the status of my move?
We’ll send you an update when we start moving your photos and when the move to Revel is complete. You can also see the status of your move on the migration page. Check your email for updates, too, including your spam or junk folder. Throughout the process, your photos will be backed up in the cloud.
It means that your move is in the queue and will begin between April 2, 2013 and June 18, 2013.
It means that your move is imminent. It should begin within days or hours.
If you live in the U.S., it means that you’ve chosen not to have us move your photos to Revel. Click here if you’ve changed your mind and you’d like us to move your photos.
If you live outside the U.S., it means you haven’t given us permission to move your photos. Click here to start your move.
Please be sure to archive your complete Photoshop.com library to your computer before June 18, 2013.
This means that your JPEG photos have been successfully moved to Revel.
Note: If you have file types other than JPEG photos in your Photoshop.com library, please be sure to archive your library before June 18, 2013.
If you have a very large Photoshop.com library, it may take some time for Revel to move all photos. Albums in particular may show up later. For best results, make sure you have the latest version of Revel installed on your Mac.

Revel platforms, devices, formats
There is currently a Revel app for the web, iPhone, iPad, and Mac as well as a Revel Importer for Android™ devices. For more information, please visit AdobeRevel.com.
Revel supports the JPEG format, as the vast majority of our users work exclusively with JPEG photos. In the coming months, we will expand onto new file formats. We welcome your feedback on additional file types to support in the future.
In the coming months, we will expand Revel onto new platforms, devices, and file formats.
The key differences are as follows:
- iPhone, iPad and Mac — Access, organize, edit, and share your photos on all your iOS devices, anywhere you are.
- Web — Upload, access, and view your photos via your web browser.
- Revel Importer for Android — Import photos on your Android devices.
In the coming months, we will expand Revel onto new platforms, devices, and file formats.
Not yet, but we plan to offer support for these features in the future and we will preserve this information when we move your files.
Photoshop.com supports the following file formats – 3FR, ARW, CR2, CRW, DCR, DNG, ERF, GIF, IIQ, KDC, MEF, MFW, MOS, MRW, NEF, NRW, ORF, PEF, PIX, PNG, PSD, RAF, RAW, RW2, RWL, SR2, SRF, SRW, TIF, X3F, TIFF, 3G2, 3GP, DV, M2T, M2TS, MTS, M1V, M2V, M4V, MOD, MP4, MPEG, MPG, MOV, WMV, AVI, MPE, 3GPP, M2P, and FLV.
Getting started with Revel
We will send you an email to let you know when your move is complete and you can start using Revel. Or, if you’d like to start using Revel right away, click here to start moving your files now.
You can access your photo library via AdobeRevel.com — just log in with your Adobe ID and password, and use the web version of Revel to upload, access, and view your photos. You can also access your library via your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Just download the apps from the iTunes and Mac App Stores to access, edit, and share your photos across your devices, wherever you are. And you can import and view your photos on Android devices and can download the app from the Google Play App Store.
First, log in to your Photoshop.com account with your Adobe ID and check to see that the photos you are looking for are really there. If they are, it’s likely that they’re in a format not supported by Revel, so you should use the Adobe Media Downloader to save them to your computer. If they are JPEG photos and they haven’t moved to Revel, you can get assistance here.
With Revel, your photos are stored in two places: Adobe’s secure cloud and the hard drive on your Mac if you have Revel installed there and have “Keep All Originals” set to “On.” This is the default setting.
You can disable this setting if you know you have your originals stored safely elsewhere, or if you don’t have enough disk space on your Mac to accommodate all photos.
The iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and AdobeRevel.com browser do not support the Keep All Originals feature.
No worries — if you quit Revel while your photos are downloading, the download will restart the next time you launch Revel.
Visit AdobeRevel.com or the Revel Help page for help and how-tos.
Information for users who already have a Revel account
If your existing Revel account uses the same Adobe ID as your Photoshop.com account, your JPEGs will be moved to your existing Revel account. Otherwise, a new Revel account will be created using the same Adobe ID you use for your Photoshop.com account.

If you have a free Revel account, it will automatically be upgraded to Revel Premium. If you have a Revel Premium account, please visit the forum for assistance.

Changes to Elements membership
Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Elements 11 do not offer Elements membership as an integrated, in-product service. This means that the following features are not available in Elements 11 — nor will they be available in previous versions of Elements after June 18, 2013:
- Syncing of albums, photos, and videos between Elements Organizer software and the Photoshop.com online Organizer
- Automatic backup and storage of your photos and videos
- Ongoing delivery of new templates, artwork, and movie themes (for Elements Plus membership subscribers)
- Elements Inspiration Browser
However, Elements 11 is integrated with Revel, so you can share your photos to Revel for access on the web and across your mobile devices. You can also import your Revel photos to Elements 11 for editing and creating.
Photo upload, auto-syncing, and backup will be available until your photos have been moved to Revel. We will notify you when your move is complete and you can access your photos on Revel. You will be able to view your Elements Organizer photos on Photoshop.com until June 18, 2013, when the storage and sharing service closes.
Try Revel! We think you’ll love using the app and having access to all your photos on all your devices. We will continually add functionality to create the best experience for reliving your memories wherever you are.
Using Revel with Elements
With Elements 11, you can share JPEG photos from your Organizer to AdobeRevel.com so you can access, edit, and share across your mobile devices. You can share photos from your Elements 11 Organizer to AdobeRevel.com. With previous version of Elements, there is no direct connection to Revel.
Elements 11 allows you to import/share photos to Revel and vice versa. We will continually add functionality to Revel and Elements in the future.
Other ways to share photos with Elements 11 software
Yes. Changes to Elements membership do not affect the other sharing options in Elements 11. Just as before, you can share via email or upload your media directly to Facebook, Flickr, YouTube™, and other popular sharing sites — and now you can share videos to Vimeo® as well. Both products also let you share photos, videos, and Online Albums via Photoshop Showcase.
Accessing my Photoshop.com files
Until June 18, 2013, if you are using Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements versions 7 through 10 and have sync turned on, you can access your synced photos and videos via your desktop Organizer or online at Photoshop.com. Just sign in with your Adobe ID.
In your Elements Organizer, go to Edit>Preferences>Backup/Synchronization. You’ll be able to see which albums are selected for synchronization. In many cases, by default, your entire catalog (all your assets) is synchronized to Photoshop.com. You can also see everything that is synced on Photoshop.com. Go to Photoshop.com and select “Photoshop Express Organizer” under the “Online Tools” menu. And sign in with your Adobe ID and password.
